Meet the Team

Steve Gillingham - Managing Director

From the age of 6 years old, Steve’s interest in Fish was apparent. He could always be found hiring books from the local library on different fish species and habits and at the age of 14 he landed a job as a Saturday Boy in the local fishmongers. After leaving school, this became his full time job.

Nine years later, Steve was offered the opportunity to run the fish department at Carrefour Supermarket and then went on to work for a local wholesaler, gaining valuable experience within the wholesale industry. Six years later, in February 1995 fate came knocking. Steve first boss, rang with the news of retirement and offered Steve the opportunity to run the business. Along with his wife and two children, Steve embarked on his new challenge. Since then, Premier Fish has expanded and eventually outgrew the high-street shop, which led to the purchase of two units in Downtown, Salisbury.

Today, Premier Fish employs 32 members of staff, has 11 delivery vans and an ever-increasing customer base.

Tony White - Sales Director

Having finished school at the age of sixteen, Tony followed his dream of playing professional football which led to him representing Northern Ireland during the 1983-84 season. After meeting his wife, Nikki, Tony settled in Dorset coaching football to children but soon accept a job as a delivery driver for a locally based National Wholesale fish supplier, M&J Seafood. During a 10 year career, Tony worked his way up the ladder from driver to office manager, and eventually becoming the Field Sales manager for the UK consisting of 13 depots.

In 2000, Tony wanted a change of scenery, and having worked with Steve Gillingham at M&J seafood, knocked on the door of Premier Fish. Almost immediately, contracts were drawn up, relationships rekindled and Tony and Steve began to lay the foundations of the solid platform that they continue to build upon on an annual basis.
